Gerakan Selangor: Pakatan Harapan plays race card to win votes in the Sg Besar by-election(14.6.16)

Gerakan Selangor State Liaison Chairman Dato’ David Ang Chin Tat slammed DAP and Amanah for playing the race card in the Sungai Besar parliamentary by-election to provoke the voters, after realizing that their candidate is losing out and now at a unfavourable position,

David Ang said DAP and Amanah were not hesitated to spread hate messages during the Sungai Besar by-election campaign period to attempt a turnaround salvaging its current disadvantaged position. They resorted to the use of high profile seditious messages to incite racial sentiment through erecting controversial billboard for public display.

“The recently concluded Sarawak state election has taught DAP a hard lesson, but they refused to repent neither did they learn from the mistake. Instead, they have become worse and took the opposite path from the harmony and democratic slogans they once preached. Their actions also indicated that the Pakatan Harapan as always was only for winning votes at all cost even to the extent of pawning the interest of the voters,” said David Ang.

As such, David Ang urged the opposing political camp to stop the dirty tricks. Instead of wasting time to discredit Barisan Nasional (BN) by inciting and provoking the voters’ sentiment, it is better for them to reflect on reasons they lost the majority of Chinese votes in the Sarawak state election.

“Today, BN has learned from its past mistakes and continues to make improvements for the voters in order to serve them with sincerity. However, the opposition has forgotten its role in check and balances as well as to monitor the government, they were busy in whitewashing their mistakes and actively moving towards the path of extremism.
