Johary Anuar (right), who was the Selangor Economic Planning Unit deputy director for local authority section, reported for duty as the new deputy mayor of Petaling Jaya. Mayor Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain greeted Johary at his office on the second floor and both men discussed matters pertaining to the administration.
Johary, who has a master’s degree in urban management from the University of Technology, Berlin in Germany, fills the post earlier held by Puasa Md. Taib, who has been promoted to Sepang Municipal Council.On April 6, StarMetro had reported that Johary, a father of five, was tipped to be the deputy mayor.
‘I am glad to be in MBPJ. I will give my best and share the knowledge I have,” he told StarMetro.
